Senegal suffers more and more from lack of water with a simultaneous decrease in water quality. The extremely extensive exploitation of the aquifer during many years leads to the reduction of the level of the ground waters. In coastal areas the consequences are a wide penetration of seawater into the aquifer and the salinization of groundwaters connected with it.

When solving the problem with the help of ecological desalination the modularly selected desalination units can be used.

The production volume of water can be expanded from below 500 m3 / day to 200,000 m3 / day.  Moreover, the desalination process has significant environmental benefits.
